Description:
Blue Door Smokehouse is located in what was previously a warehouse district on the east side of Lexington. In recent years, some top-line restaurants and breweries have moved in and renovated older buildings and a couple have built new. As you enter the Blue Door you see a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where the focus is the food and eating it! It’s very open with tall ceilings, concrete floor, and a large kitchen that you can see into. There are plenty of tables and chairs to eat inside or you can eat outside at the picnic tables. The menu is all laid out in chalkboard style and easy to read. All of their food is amazing, but I find myself always gravitating towards their pulled pork. Their meats are fresh smoked daily, and they sell their food and remain open until sold out! Their customer service is always very nice, and you get your order pretty quickly. They service a loyal lunch crowd that likely doesn’t have a lot of time for lunch. Despite getting your food quickly the atmosphere is quiet and laid back – never a rushed feeling. Their smoked meats are tender and seasoned well. Their variety of sauces are a wonderful addition to the meats! When you’ve finished your BBQ, just step right next door and enjoy Sav’s Chill gourmet ice cream (https://www.savslex.com/) – locally owned, locally sourced, best ice cream in town!
